Terms of use
Last updated September 16, 2026
These terms govern your use of splitfeed.ai and the Splitfeed newsletter, operated by Hunter Avallone LLC, a West Virginia limited liability company (“Splitfeed”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. What Splitfeed is
Splitfeed aggregates links to news coverage about artificial intelligence, publishes short summaries of that coverage, and displays excerpts of public reactions grouped into editorial categories we call camps. Splitfeed is an editorial product. Camp assignments, story selection and summaries reflect our judgment and may be wrong.
2. Quotes and attribution
Reactions shown on Splitfeed are short excerpts of public posts. Each excerpt is attributed to the account that posted it and linked to the original. We reproduce excerpts under fair use for the purpose of news reporting and commentary. The words belong to their authors. Splitfeed does not endorse any quoted view and the presence of a quote does not mean its author endorses Splitfeed.
If you are the author of a quoted post and believe the excerpt misrepresents you, is attributed to the wrong account, or has been filed in the wrong camp, email hello@splitfeed.ai. Attribution corrections are reviewed ahead of all other requests.
3. Summaries and the Index
Story summaries are generated from the linked source articles with the help of automated tools and may contain errors. The Doom / Boom index is a derived statistic about the tone of public reaction. It is not a prediction, a recommendation, or a measure of anything other than what it says on the Index page. Do not rely on either for any decision with financial, legal, medical or safety consequences.
4. Accounts
You may create an account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the site and at least 18 to buy a paid plan. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
5. Paid plans
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the schedule shown at checkout and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable. Prices may change with at least 30 days notice by email.
6. Your content
If you post comments, you keep ownership of them and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store and moderate them as part of the site. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that impersonates someone else. We may remove content at our discretion.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site beyond what our published feeds and embeds allow.
- Do not attempt to bypass ads, paywalls, rate limits or security measures.
- Do not use the site to build a competing dataset of quotes without permission.
- Do not interfere with the operation of the site or other people's use of it.
8. Embeds and feeds
You may embed the Index widget and Split cards on your own site using the code we provide, as long as the embed remains unmodified and links back to Splitfeed. We may change or discontinue embeds at any time.
9. Intellectual property
The Splitfeed name, logo, design, summaries and the camp taxonomy are owned by Hunter Avallone LLC. Linked articles belong to their publishers. Quoted posts belong to their authors. Nothing in these terms grants you rights in any of them beyond personal, non-commercial reading.
10. Third-party links
The site links to outside articles, posts and advertisers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.
11. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that summaries, quotes and camp assignments are accurate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hunter Avallone LLC and its members, officers and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the greater of fifty US dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hunter Avallone LLC from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from content you post or your violation of these terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in West Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
15. Changes
We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. For material changes we will post a notice on the site or email account holders.
