Privacy policy

Last updated September 16, 2026

Splitfeed is operated by Hunter Avallone LLC, a limited liability company organized in West Virginia, United States (“Splitfeed”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use splitfeed.ai, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We use these to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Newsletter signup. If you subscribe to the daily email, we store your email address and the date you subscribed.
  • Comments and messages. Anything you post on the site or send to us by email, including correction requests.
  • Payment information. If you buy a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a customer identifier, your plan, and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data. Pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type and operating system.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 4.

2. How we use information

  • To run the site, keep you signed in, and deliver the newsletter you asked for.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To understand which stories and features people use so we can improve the site.
  • To show advertising, including advertising tailored to your interests where you have allowed it (section 5).
  • To respond to your messages, including attribution corrections.
  • To detect abuse, enforce our terms, and comply with law.

3. Google sign-in

Sign-in uses Google OAuth. When you connect your Google account we request only your basic profile (name, email, picture). Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Splitfeed's access at any time from your Google account security settings, and you can delete your Splitfeed account by emailing us.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect forms from abuse. The site does not work properly without them.
  • Preference storage in your browser remembers things like which tab you last opened. This data never leaves your device.
  • Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages are read. We use privacy-respecting analytics where possible and configure any analytics provider to truncate IP addresses.
  • Advertising cookies are set by our advertising partners (section 5) to measure ads and, where permitted, to personalize them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out.

5. Advertising

Splitfeed is free to read and supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense and may add other advertising partners in the future. These partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com.
  • You can opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at optout.aboutads.info.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any non-essential advertising cookie is set, and can change their choice at any time from the footer.
  • Paid subscribers see no advertising and no advertising cookies are set for them.

When we add advertising partners beyond Google we will update this section and the consent prompt before those partners set any cookie.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers that host the site, send email, process payments, provide analytics or serve advertising, each bound to use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Authorities when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Splitfeed and its users.
  • A successor if Splitfeed is acquired or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred information.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

7. Retention

Account information is kept while your account exists and for up to 30 days after deletion so we can honor reversals. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Usage data is kept in aggregate; individual-level analytics records are retained for no more than 14 months. Correction requests and other correspondence are kept for as long as needed to resolve them and to maintain an editorial record.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Access, correction, deletion. Email us and we will provide, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you within 30 days, subject to any legal duty to retain it.
  • Newsletter. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Advertising. Use the opt-out links in section 5 or subscribe to a paid plan to remove ads.
  • State privacy laws. If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights including the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to opt out of targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Since we do not sell personal information, there is no sale to opt out of. To exercise any of these rights, email us.
  • Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of targeted advertising where the law requires it.

9. Children

Splitfeed is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, restrict access to personal information to people who need it to run the site, and rely on established providers for authentication and payments. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you transmit to us.

11. International visitors

Splitfeed is operated from the United States and information is processed there. If you visit from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest revision. For material changes we will post a notice on the site or email account holders before the change takes effect.
